I am feeling WICKED

Last night was very fun, but the weather wasn't cooperating as mother nature threw blizzard like conditions for our Downtown tour and ride home. Jim and I went down to the Opera house to test our luck in the lotto to see the Broadway play WICKED. There will be only 20 winners, who will win a pair of tickets for $25 each, opposed to $100. We arrived around 5:30 and they drew the names at 6. We were hoping to get 4 tickets so Sharon and Savannah could join us, but unfortunately, we were only chosen once. We still felt very lucky that we were the 3 rd name picked and had front row seats, which were amazing. The play was fun, creative, and very entertaining. Ultimately, we were glad that we had the opportunity to see it.

O Christmas Tree.....

This year, I only wanted a small Christmas tree. One that wouldn't take up the whole living room, so I talked Jim into buying a real Christmas tree from Costco. We couldn't see an open tree, because they were all wrapped up. I thought they were small like the sample they had on display, which was about 6 feet tall and narrow. Unfortunately, the JOKE was on us! I should have known better, when my co-worker said it was the heaviest tree he had lifted all week....lol. When we removed the wrap tie from the tree, it was twice as big as the one we own! This had completely defeated the purpose of wanting a small tree. LMAO :) But this is my very first "real" Christmas tree and after the decorations were assembled, I had fallen in love with it. It's very amazing on how a tree could bring so much Christmas spirit into your home.

Merry Christmas everybody!!!

Christmas Tea

Every year, my friend Jennifer hosts a Christmas tea party through her church. The host will sponsor a table that is decorated with the finest china and appetising finger sandwiches, scones, desserts, and tea. The event had ended with an inspirational speaker, who had lifted spirits and personal motivation which is a beginning of a great holiday season.

Thanksgiving in Minnesota

This year on Thanksgiving eve, Jim, David and I had made our way to Minnesota for a wonderful thanksgiving with the Jung family. We left for our road trip just after Jim got home from work on Wednesday, where our arrival time in Minnesota was 3:00 am. The ride out there took about 12 hours of travel time, but our ride home to Michigan had offered a bumpier ride that contained rain, hail, snow, ice covered hills, and what had seemed like an uphill battle the whole entire fourteen hours of driving that Jim had to face.

On Thursday morning while Cynthia was at work, I got up early and had prepared the turkey for the big day of THANKS. I just want to thank goodness for turkey bags, because they are a life saver.

Thanksgiving Menu:

Turkey and homemade stuffing

Ham

green bean casserole

mash potatoes and gravy

corn

BBQ meatballs

vege tray

ham roll -ups

assortment of dinner rolls

homemade pizza ( while we were playing games)

spinach dip

homemade desserts

Cynthia had some friends from church and BK's family over

We used the dining table as a buffet and had a Korean style table for dinner.

Cynthia and David

Also this year I attended my very first black Friday shopping frenzy. Jim and I got up at 5:30 and went to the local Super Target. It was so organized that we were able to purchase everything on our list. Infact, I had a incident where a lady any I had grabbed the very last Wii guitar hero at exact same time.... I looked at her and ask if she wanted to play rock, paper, scissors for it, and she agreed...and I WON...lol.

For the rest of the weekend we went to the movies, shopped at the Mall of America, visit w/ my friend Sherrie, played Korean card games and feasted on Korean food.
It was a great Thanksgiving.

frankenmuth

Every year for Jim's birthday we would head up to a cute little Bavarian German town called Frankenmuth. they are known for their famous family style chicken dinner w/ all the fixins. They are also famous for having the largest Christmas store..... I believe it's the size of a 9 football field.

It's fun to go up there in November to see all the Christmas decorations and get a early start on Christmas shopping.
